Snow peaks of the Indian Himalayas at dawn
a tale of indian voyage begins with you…

Travel slowly.
We’ll walk with you.

Echo Expeditions is a personal travel companion service in India, created for explorers seeking meaningful, unhurried journeys. We are not a tour company — we create personal journeys for solo travellers and small groups, thoughtfully shaped around their interests, pace and aspirations. From adventure activities and cultural festivals to dream destinations and journeys of self-realization, your wishes set the pace; we carry the map, the chai and the conversation.

🤝 companion : traveller 🕑 No tight schedules, ever 📍 All across India ✨ Travel at Your Own Pace
why we exist

Everyone has a list of wishes. Very few have someone to go with.

Big group tours rush you past your own dreams — fifteen minutes at the temple, back on the bus, next stop. We believe the opposite: that a journey should breathe. So we come along as your companion, giving you personal attention, unhurried time and the deep self-satisfaction of doing your things, your way — the way tourism should feel after 45.

the difference

Tour group, guide, or companion?

It’s a fair question, because “companion” gets used loosely. Here is exactly what the three things are, and what each one does to your day.

a group tour

Thirty strangers, one bus

The package way

Who sets the paceThe bus timetable
How long they’re with youEight days, thirty people
What they doHerd and narrate
Can you change your mind?No
Who you are to themSeat 14
a local guide

Brilliant, for two hours

The monument expert

Who sets the paceThe booking slot
How long they’re with youOne site, then gone
What they doExplain a monument well
Can you change your mind? Not really
Who you are to themThe three o’clock client
an Echo companion

The whole way, at your speed

The third option

Who sets the paceYou. All day, every day.
How long they’re with youStart to finish, one person
What they doPlan, book, translate, troubleshoot, keep you company
Can you change your mind?Any time. That’s the point.
Who you are to themThe only name on their calendar

A guide shows you a place. A tour moves you through it. A companion makes sure you actually get to have it — in your own time, at your own speed, with someone in your corner if anything goes sideways.

who we travel with

No typical traveller. That’s rather the point.

🧍

Solo travellers

Anyone who wants the freedom of travelling alone without the friction of doing everything alone.

👩

Women travelling alone

Request a woman companion, women-run stays, and routes planned with an extra layer of care. Ask freely — it’s never an awkward request, and it never costs more.

🧭

First time in India

The country rewards you enormously and asks a great deal in return. We handle the asking.

👥

Couples & friends

Two to four people, one companion, and nobody arguing about who’s navigating.

💻

Working travellers

Sabbaticals, career breaks, remote months. Wi-Fi tested in advance, mornings kept clear, weekends made worth it.

👪

Parents & older travellers

Doctor-aware pacing, accessible stays, updates home if wanted. This is one of the things we do best.

Our youngest traveller so far was 18. Our oldest was 81. Neither got a different service — just a different pace.

travellers’ tales

Words From The Road

I had waited forty years to see a Theyyam. My companion knew when to explain, and when to simply stand beside me in silence. I wept. It was perfect.

Meera K. Festivals & culture journey, Kannur

After my retirement I wanted to raft the Ganga before my knees objected. At 64, I did — with someone holding my confidence the whole way down.

Thomas V. “Before it’s too late” adventure, Rishikesh

We found my mother’s childhood home in a village I only knew from her stories. The neighbours remembered her name. I cannot describe what that felt like.
